Satomi M. Martin, is a filmmaker and a military combat veteran who earned her MFA in film & TV productions and screenwriting from the Univ. of Southern California, School of Cinematic Arts.
Satomi directed a national campaign of 12 U.S. Army marketing ads and was the 1st AD to Directors with films featured at Sundance, TVOne, HBO, BET+, and a YouTube series.
To escape the thundering explosions that bombarded the city of Baghdad, Iraq, as a young soldier overseas, Satomi found creative ways to tell stories. There she directed mini theatrical productions in the former Saddam Hussein's palace theater to help transition soldier's minds from where they were to someplace imaginable.
Taking her love of storytelling from the belly of war to the screen, she now creates stories for feature films, scripted, unscripted TV, and micro content for online platforms that champion diversity and elevate subcultures.
Founder of Director's Bootcamp, Satomi started her own production company, Major Creations Studios LLC, a woman veteran and minority owned company in Atlanta, Ga., where she resides with her family.
